Overview

Role: Assembly Technician (6 month contract)

Location: Leamington Spa

Salary: £17.63 per hour

Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking an Assembly Technician on a contract basis. You will be responsible for the preparation and build of gearboxes and axles for low volume, high value driveline systems for a variety of customers.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Good mechanical assembly and/or test skills.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks, organise work, and make sound decisions.
  • Navigate basic systems and processes while undertaking a range of tasks.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, equipment management and maintenance.
  • Problem solving skills and the awareness to escalate larger problems.
  • Support investigations and contributes ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English (Grade C or above).
  • Likely to have served a traditional apprenticeship or have relevant experience.
  • Assembly and / or end of line test experience of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to use measurement equipment such as vernier, micrometer etc.
  • Intermediate level of PC and general computer skills – good working knowledge of MS office.
  • Good organisational skills. Is self-motivated and proactive.
  • Awareness of automotive quality control processes

Accountability:

  • Manages time effectively and prioritises tasks to meet set deadlines.
  • Demonstrates integrity, takes responsibility for actions and decisions, acknowledges errors and develops plans to prevent recurrence with support.
  • Pays attention to detail while following strict quality, health, and safety procedures, and implements good judgment to make appropriate decisions.
  • Shows vigilance and diligence, maintaining high standards of work while staying calm under pressure.

Additional/special features of the role: Location / Travel:

  • Expected to be UK based within the RPP office in Leamington Spa, 5 days per week.
