Unqualified Teacher of Art with Photography Focus (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Unqualified Teacher of Art with a focus on Photography to join a dynamic and supportive school environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable teaching experience, develop professionally, and inspire the next generation of artists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality Art and Photography lessons, providing students with an engaging, broad, and differentiated curriculum.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of students.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum planning, resource development, and lesson delivery.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Be a form tutor, supporting the pastoral care and well-being of students.
  • Develop your professional skills through ongoing training and performance management.
What We're Looking For:
  • A relevant undergraduate degree (Art, Photography, or related field).
  • Experience or a strong interest in photography, with proven practical skills.
  • Some prior teaching experience, ideally within a secondary school context (teaching practice is acceptable).
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4, and an understanding of lesson planning, resource development, and student assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Good ICT skills, ideally including experience with interactive whiteboards and other digital learning tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to high standards, equality of access for all students, and fostering a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
