Overview

Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating

Industry Sector: M&E Contractors, HVAC Contractors, Plumbing & Heating Contractors, M&E Consultants, Building Services Consultants and Plumbing & Heating Merchants

Area to be covered: Midlands and South

Remuneration: £40,000 Neg. + 20-25% Bonus

Benefits: Fully expensed hybrid car & full benefits

Responsibilities
  • Technical field sales position selling a large manufactured range of valves, thermostatic control products, pipes, HIU's (heat interface units) and manifolds
  • Promoting products and solutions for isolation, regulation and control of heating and domestic water services
  • Typically targeting hospitals, schools, health centres, housing associations, commercial and large public buildings
  • 50% New business and 50% account development role, you will be inheriting an area which has not had dedicated field sales representation but does have some large accounts that are spending a small amount currently
  • Targeted to increase turnover from £150,000 to £250,000 in year one
  • Responsible for approx. 60-80 trading accounts
  • Majority of your time will be spent with M&E contractors, HVAC contractors, mechanical contractors or plumbing and building services contractors
  • The remainder of your time winning specifications with consulting engineers, local authorities, M&E consultants, other specifiers and some small independent plumbers merchants via a deal with UKPS
  • Excellent field sales support
  • 6 calls per day, plus 2 calls per week with consultants
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating with
  • Sales experience with the plumbing and heating industry, ideally sold to contractor customers
  • Mechanical engineering/ building services industry background not essential
  • Ideally some technical field sales experience with M&E contractors, HVAC contractors or building services contractors
  • Specification field sales experience with M&E consultants, and consulting engineers is not essential
  • Passionate with tonnes of determination, drive and tenacity
  • Building services / HVAC construction industry contacts would be useful
  • Must be a team player and have the ability and personality to integrate into a team working environment
  • Business acumen and negotiating skills
  • Preferably with prior experience within commercial, healthcare and local authority sectors
