Overview

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Supervisor for our new shop in Hyndburn Retail Park, Blackburn. This is a permanent full-time position with a variety of shifts, 5 days from 7 each week.

Responsibilities
  • Make customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple greeting.
  • Help customers find items and provide fast, friendly service at the tills, including packing and a courteous goodbye.
  • Handle stock with care during deliveries and efficiently place products on freezers and shelves.
  • Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop clean and tidy.
  • Open and close the shop, handle cash, place orders, and support the manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop.
  • Ensure all work set by the apprenticeship provider is completed on time and to a high standard.
What the apprenticeship involves
  • Working in a busy shop and learning how to be a great supervisor.
  • Regular pre-arranged visits from an assessor (every 10–12 weeks) with ongoing reviews via webinar, telephone, and video call.
  • Regular completion of apprenticeship coursework and, where required, completion of functional skills in English and Maths.
  • Completion of an assessment at the end of 12 months of training.
Pay, hours and benefits

You will earn £13.11 per hour from day one and are guaranteed 35 hours per week, with a weekly pay of at least £458.

  • Reliability as part of a small team; colleagues and customers depend on you.
  • Flexibility with shifts; rosters are planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside of work are considered when planning shifts.
  • Ensure all apprenticeship provider work is completed on time and to the best of your ability.
