Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Apprentership to work within the Juniper Centre, Moseley Hall Hospital site. Our staff provide assessment, specialist support, treatment and care planning for service users with both functional and organic mental health problems. You will be the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors to the building and it is essential that you present in a friendly and approachable manner. The reception is open five days a week, between 8am and 6pm. The appointee will cover a shift pattern with colleagues to ensure the service needs are met.

Ambassadors for the trust, reception staff will be on front desk, face-to-face contacts facilitating meet and greet of people entering the building, dealing with enquiries, and signposting to relevant departments. You will also be responsible for issuing keys, fobs and alarms, and overseeing day-to-day reception operation (e.g., maintaining supplies, preparing posters and display boards, and handling email requests for both reception and outpatients).

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide an effective and efficient clerical, administrative and reception service to patients, staff and visitors.
  • Record and book outpatient appointments and monitor attendance using electronic systems.
  • Manage a busy telephone line; receive all incoming mail and ensure appropriate action is taken; process clinical letters and other correspondence.
  • Work in conjunction with other team members and liaise with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals, GPs, social workers, service users and other appropriate agencies.
  • Maintain day-to-day reception duties including signposting calls, handling enquiries, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain supplies of booklets, prepare posters and display boards, and action email requests relevant to reception and outpatients.
