Overview

We are recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team for 2 days per week (18 hours). The working pattern is Wednesday and Friday. The ANP would join our GP Team of 10 GPs and 2 existing ANPs. Salary: Equivalent Agenda For Change band 8a. Join an innovative forward-thinking Practice set on the edge of the New Forest, in easy reach of urban towns in Dorset and Hampshire, and the seaside. We are based in Ringwood and close to the A31 corridor. We nurture and provide mentorship to newly qualified GPs and ANPs and offer ongoing professional support to experienced GPs looking for new challenges.

The successful candidate must have a suitable prescribing qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the GP Team delivering GP services to patients, including planned ongoing care as well as acute urgent care.
  • Examine, diagnose, prescribe and treat patients as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
  • Manage patient health and illness, analyse history and diagnostic information to develop differential diagnoses.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately, including initiation of emergency care where needed.
  • Formulate action plans based on evidence-based care and practice guidelines; initiate appropriate consultations and/or referrals when within scope or beyond.
  • Utilise public health information and guidelines; develop and use follow-up systems to ensure patient care continuity.
  • Provide counselling on drug regimens, side-effects and interactions; prescribe from the appropriate formulary based on efficacy, safety and cost.
  • Order, perform and interpret common screening and diagnostic tests; communicate patient health status to relevant professionals.
  • Provide health promotion and disease prevention services to patients and families.
