Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner team at HMP Onley, a category C Prison located in Rugby. Working across 2 sites, 2 days at HMP Rye Hill, 3 days at HMP Onley. Parking at both sites. On-site gym and training and development opportunities.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. No weekends or nights.

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £50,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems.
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners.
  • Act as a role model, ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
  • Support senior clinicians on site and be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
  • Work with the team to ensure patient safety, management of complex cases, and application of up-to-date treatment methodologies to patient care.

Qualifications required:

  • Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC.
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification (SMS Prescriber) - Essential.
  • MSc in Advanced Practice.
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
