At the AI & ML Foundation,you will help shape the future of AI architecture within the Volvo Group by building and maintaining secure and scalable cloud systems for generative AI, working on innovative projects in a collaborative environment that have a global impact.

What you'll do in this role,

You will lead the development and optimization of a modern genAI-powered chatbot platform, leveraging advanced AI and cloud technologies. Your responsibilities include designing scalable, reliable, and secure platform architecture that supports natural language understanding, generation, and multi-modal interactions. You will establish best practices for deploying, managing, and scaling AI models, including large language models (LLMs), and provide technical guidance to the product team throughout its chatbot development lifecycle.

As a subject matter expert, you will advise on architecture decisions, optimize platform performance, and explore emerging AI trends like agentic, multimodalAI, compositeAI… Your work will directly impact the platform’s responsiveness, safety, and cost-efficiency, enabling seamless, intelligent conversational experiences for users.

Core Competencies

• Python(expert level – scripting, backend APIs, task automation)
• Cosmos DB and optionally Azure ML, AI Search, or Data Factory
• Experience with:
• Building or extending GPT-like apps (chat logic, tool integration)
• Architecting loosely coupled GPT pipelines (e.g., agentic design, internal toolchain)

Software & Data Engineering

• REST API creation and consumption (e.g., for integrating Volvo internal systems like MCP)
• Logs/metrics pipelines (for internal observability and usage tracking)
• Comfortable in CI/CD environments (Azure DevOps pipelines)
• Git-based workflows with branching, reviews, and testing

Full Stack Awareness

• Can collaborate closely with frontend teams using React/TS
• Knows enough JS/HTML to support GPT UI extensions (e.g., graph output, code formatting)
