The “Advanced Microscopy and Tissue Physiology” unit at the Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences (LOB), Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France, is seeking a talented postdoctoral scientist with a background in instrumentation/optics and an interest in interdisciplinary research in biology.
The successful candidate will develop approaches for high-volume, deep imaging of large, living samples. In particular, the focus will be on developing multiphoton light-sheet microscopy. Based on an existing prototype optimized for embryonic imaging (https://doi.org/10.1364/BOE.400113 ), the project will explore the use of Bessel beams, multicolor excitation, and the development of a microscope dedicated to rapid imaging of intact tissues.
The project will be carried out at the Laboratory forOptics and Biosciences at the École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) in the advanced microscopy unit. The host team offers an interdisciplinary environment combining optics, computer science, and biology. The École Polytechnique is located on the Paris-Saclay plateau and is easily accessible by public transport from Paris. The campus offers a pleasant living environment with numerous activities (sports facilities, clubs, etc.). More information is available at https://www.ip-paris.fr .
