Our client is building a modern property management platform by acquiring great regional operators and equipping them with a modern financial and operational backbone. They focus on critical parts of the business – accounting, systems, and shared services – and rebuild them so local teams can operate with clarity, speed, and accountability. The goal is simple: better execution, better economics, and a platform that scales without losing what makes each underlying business special.

Role Overview

This will be their first senior finance leader to own financial integrity, integration, and scale from day one. This leader will:

• Lead core finance execution (close, integration, cash, taxes) and early integrations
• Establish trust in the numbers across the platform
• Upgrade property-level accounting operations
• Build the foundation for a multi-entity finance organization

What You’ll Own

• Own finance and accounting across multiple operating entities
• Establish a fast, accurate, and repeatable monthly close
• Own AP/AR, GL, inter-company accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Design and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Ensure audit-ready books and coordinate annual audits with third-party firms
• Coordinate quarterly tax estimates and filings with external advisor

Property & Platform Finance Operations

• Modernize property-level and corporate accounting workflows
• Standardize chart of accounts, close calendar, and owner reporting
• Evaluate and redesign AP/AR workflows; reduce errors and rework
• Implement a governance model across current and future acquisitions

Finance Systems & Data Enablement

• Assess and rationalize finance- and accounting-related systems across entities
• Define standards for system usage, permissions, and data integrity within finance
• Partner with engineering and shared services leaders to ensure clean financial data flows and integrations

Spend Visibility & Selective Platform Leverage

• Establish visibility into vendor spend across entities
• Identify and execute selective platform-level efficiency opportunities (e.g., vendor terms, rebates, standardization) where there is clear leverage
• Shape the procurement roadmap in partnership with executive leadership
• Build and run the Integration Playbook
• Lead finance-related integration efforts for every acquisition
• Ensure finance and accounting standards are adopted across entities within 3-6 months post-acquisition
