The Île-de-France Photovoltaic Institute, an institute for energy transition created in 2013, is a scientific and technical center dedicated to the research and development of solar technologies. On its site located in Paris-Saclay, it brings together its own staff, employees of its partners and those of external companies. The IPVF aims to ambition to become one of the main global centers for research, innovation and training in the field of energy transition.
The IPVF aims to primary objective of improving the performance and competitiveness of photovoltaic cells and developing disruptive technologies relying on four levers:
Ecodesign is a product evaluation method that identifies critical elements for its environmental impact. In the case of photovoltaics in France, studies have defined criteria to consider for silicon (Si)-based modules. However, this internship aims to propose a broader definition to include emerging perovskite (PVK)-based technologies entering the market and to apply it to Si/PVK and PVK/PVK tandem modules. Furthermore, it is necessary to apply this methodology quantitatively, incorporating the state of the art in recyclability, recent advances in photovoltaic research, and techno-economic considerations related to already identified environmental improvements.
The intern will work closely with the technical-economic and environmental analysis team as well as with the IPVF PVK and Tandem module manufacturing team.
Training : specialized master 2 providing knowledge in LCA (life cycle analysis) and techno-economic analyses.
There’s nothing quite like an experience (Internship or project) in materials science and energy performance evaluation is essential. Users must be proficient in using Simapro. The working languages are English (required) and French (recommended).
