The Île-de-France Photovoltaic Institute, an institute for energy transition created in 2013, is a scientific and technical center dedicated to the research and development of solar technologies. On its site located in Paris-Saclay, it brings together its own staff, employees of its partners and those of external companies. The IPVF aims to ambition to become one of the main global centers for research, innovation and training in the field of energy transition.
The IPVF aims to primary objective of improving the performance and competitiveness of photovoltaic cells and developing disruptive technologies relying on four levers:
The internship is part of the task “Operando high resolution characterization of defect appearance, evolution and impact on device performance”. It consists of developing experimental methods to identify potential sources of degradation even before performing accelerated aging.
1) Perform high-resolution photoluminescence imaging of defects on the surface of a 0.09cm² perovskite-based cell;
2) Monitor the evolution/appearance of these defects during accelerated aging;
3) Collect and analyze their spectral and temporal signatures;
4) Perform spot electrical measurements during aging.
Training : Master's degree or engineering school in Applied Physics / Materials Physics
Knowledge : Physical measurements, data processing and analysis, instrumentation (TRFLIM, PL 4D, humidity-controlled chamber, cryostat, source meter) Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab.
Social skills Communication of results, taste for innovation, autonomy.
