ERM is seeking a motivated Social Consultant to join our team in France (Paris or Lyon).

The ideal candidate will have at 1 - 2 years of experience in a consulting company.

The candidate should have professional experience in providing social advisory services (social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, human rights, social value creation strategies, due diligence, social license to operate, resettlement and livelihood restoration planning and implementation, community health, safety and security) in line with national and international requirements of lender institutions and, if possible, have experience with permitting effort in France.

Our Social Performance team works with corporations, multilateral finance institutions, and other private and public sector clients to assess a wide range of corporate social and ethical issues, identifying and communicating with stakeholders at corporate and operational level. The work includes strategic and policy work, stakeholder consultation and engagement, and management systems, as well as field surveys to collect data aiming to identify, assess and manage social impact assessment, social management plan development such as resettlement frameworks / action plans stakeholder engagement plans, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Work on the social aspects of projects compliant with national regulations and international standards and guidelines (mainly World Bank, IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles), including socioeconomic baseline data collection, fieldwork design and coordination, socioeconomic baseline data reporting, conducting impact assessment and due diligence, developing mitigation measures, social management plans, stakeholder mapping and characterization and proposing engagement strategies, developing grievance mechanisms for communities, workers, advising clients on roles and responsibilities for management of social aspects including resources for stakeholder engagement and grievance management.
  • Provide support with writing project reports in accordance with the requirements of ERM’s project management system, including undertaking research and analysis.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations: results of different types of projects and proposals.
  • Conduct field work activities when required (expected frequency is approximately once per quarter).
  • Deliver assigned tasks within contracted project or proposals under development.
  • Network with the social and human rights community of practitioners within the whole organization and particularly within EMEA.
  • Remain up to speed with latest developments in terms of relevant legislation and requirements applicable to projects and clients from a social perspective.
