Essential criteria for the position of Social Care Worker:
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential
- Eligible to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
- Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
- Full drivers licence (manual) desirable
- Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required for a Social Care Worker:
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORU’s website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; OR
- A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; AND
- Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- OR proof of application in progress with CORU.
Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker:
- Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
- Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCPs
- Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
- Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills
