The Senior Consultant Discovery & Delivery, Performance Partnership Programme for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for assessing the need for continuous improvement and consulting initiatives to develop a strategic Performance partnership plan with customers and internal stakeholders. You are as comfortable at the VP level and above in hospitals and laboratories, using the right tools to enhance value stream business change.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Works alongside the Performance Partnership (PP) Principals to assess gaps in customers’ current laboratory service line operations and make recommendations to the PP Principal. Attend meetings with the PP Principal and hospital executives.
• A major contributor to the sales process, including executive presentations with executive clients, alongside the PP Principal and Beckman Coulter sales team. Build strong relationships with existing clients and new potential clients.
• Lead the overall project management of all customeraudits to ensure they are scoped correctly and ensure we can execute within the timeframe necessary.
• Coach and mentor other project team members to ensure customer expectations are met and to diagnose workflow impediments and provide expert counsel on appropriate advanced strategies employing DBS Tools to eliminate waste. Develop solutions which meet planning schedules and quality objectives of the client. Understand and define linkages between customer strategic objectives and process improvements, using both analytical tools and consulting techniques.
• Deliver diagnostic assessment report out presentations to executive clients.
• Help to create a draft version of a delivery strategy in each client account where an assessment is performed, including Statement of Work documents. Work with PP Principal to create a roadmap for deployment of Delivery strategy through tactical planning and execution.
• Collection of current state data points to develop proof indicators & evidence material to promote the success of the program. Work with teams to diagnose workflow impediments and provide expert counsel on applicable Lean tools to eliminate waste. Develop solutions that are aligned with objectives of the client and cost savings in all departments (logistics, inventory, schedules, etc).
• Develop and gain consensus regarding high level key performance indicators (KPIs). Use trackers and other visual management tools to ensure sustainment. Analyse LIS data to confirm customer volumes, test menus and validation of project implementation and cost savings results.
• Although this is largely an external customer facing role, assistance with internal DBS activities, including training of associates and such events like President's Kaizen, will be required upon request.
The essential requirements of the job include:
• MS, master’s degree, MBA and consultancy experience in Operations Management, Health Care Management, Business or Industrial Engineering. 10+ years track record of commercial experience with proven success in continuous improvement, sales or consulting including skills with Lean Management tools.
• IVD Lab Operations experience. Need to be familiar with lab organizations, workflow optimization strategies, understanding Hospitals like AP-HP or and Large Private Lab Network Groups for core, regional and other lab set-ups. Need to be familiar with test menu optimization strategies (i.e., running the right test at the right time), understanding Hub and Spoke models for core, regional and other lab set-ups, Inventory management, Patient Blood Management, Equipment Capacity and Staff Productivity to name a few.
• Experience consulting across large complex business systems and value streams regarding improvement plans focused on cost reduction and cost avoidance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Background or knowledge of hospital finance, Laboratory redesign experience with skills in Lean Management and continuous improvement
• English and French or German or another European language
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
• Advanced skills in communications, training, consulting, influencing; teamwork across disciplines, regions, and cultures.
• Confirmed proficiency in time management and action plan execution.
