Offer Description

DCM - EMPRE Team

Team description: EMPRE Team - Project Manager (N+1): Prof. Cyrille Costentin (sole team member involved in the project)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct electrochemical studies to understand the transformation of chlorosilane compounds into hydrides in the presence of molecular catalysts and a selected proton donor
  • Implement the molecular electrochemistry tools developed at the DCM (cyclic voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry)
  • Study the electrochemical activation of the catalyst in the presence of the proton donor
  • Evaluate the hydricity of the catalyst by determining its reactivity with different hydride acceptors
  • Examine the reactivity with the R3Si-X precursor and analyse the role of the leaving group X
  • Determine any relationships between the activation of the Si-X bond by the catalyst and the dissociation energy of this bond
  • Carry out the planned electrochemical experiments
  • Analyse the data in close collaboration with the supervisor (C. Costentin)
  • Write up and format the results obtained
Qualifications
  • Experience in research in molecular chemistry and electrochemistry
  • Ability to conduct experiments, analyse them and format the results
