Missions / Contenu du poste

The candidate will be part of the EU Joint Action SHIELD (Strategies for Health Interventions to Eliminate Infection related Cancer) aimed to reduce cancers caused by infections, focusing on human papillomavirus (HPV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), also taking into account how stigma and discrimination act as barriers to timely diagnosis and linkage to care and treatment, but also prevention interventions (including but not limited to vaccination). SHIELD will compare multiple intervention strategies using a disease-specific model to project the impact of the implementation level of those measures on morbidity/mortality and healthcare costs of these diseases in Europe. The post-doc/research engineer will work primarily on evaluating HPV prevention and treatment strategies.

Main activities:

  • Construction of a mathematical model of transmission and progression of HPV
  • Produce a bibliographic synthesis for data extraction to feed the mathematical model
  • Carry out statistical analyses to estimate the parameters of the mathematical model from databases
