Job Purpose
Assists the Project Manager and/or Project Control Manager in the overall control of medium‑sized projects and is specifically in charge of supervising at least cost engineering, planning and scheduling, progress monitoring, risk management, reporting (internal and to client/partners) and document control.
Job Description
- Ensures project activities execution within Project Control disciplines, in accordance with Business Management System (BMS)
- Provides clear picture to project management on project status, trend and risks to the Project Manager
- Provides Project Baseline and Budget; estimates, controls and forecasts budget
- Allocates project cost budget to concerned disciplines and monitors expenditure actual and forecast evolution in line with the established Project Execution Plan and strategy
- Identifies and prepares preventive/corrective actions; prepares Recovery Plans, Catch‑up Plans, Acceleration Plans, Rebaselines, etc.
- In liaison with project controls and contract departments, initiates implementation of control team, control procedures and tools, then supervises during project life: planning, scheduling & project reporting—including scope management, project deliverables, project structure breakdowns, work breakdown structure (WBS), organizational breakdown structure (OBS), cost breakdown structure (CBS), etc.; schedule management, schedule forecasting, corrective action, progress measurement/reporting, productivity calculations and analysis
- Monitors quantities, earned value analysis & management
- Ensures management of contract and change/variation orders/trend analysis
- Risk and delay claims (risk assessment & management; delay claims quantification)
- Issues reports internally and to client/partners
- At project close‑out, responsible for issuing feedback report and lessons learned, for project feedback and discipline database
You are meant for this job if:
- Engineering degree or equivalent diploma
- 5 to 8 years of experience in project controls or project engineer management roles
- French and English
- Proficiency in MS Office and other applicable Project Control IT tools
- Strong team leadership skills and experience with network management across different cultures
- Understanding of the basic business principles for the O&G Industry
- Knowledge of law and contract standards applicable in the offshore O&G Industry
- Thorough understanding and experience in commercial management processes and principles
