As a Pre-Sales Consultant you will be responsible for working with HID's world class family of channel partners, driving integration and alignment with HID's products, brands and services. The actions of this position will result in HID Global being the preferred technology of choice within partner organizations.

This position reports to the Director of Sales Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team and partners in closing deals with current and prospective customers; organize regular conference calls and meetings accordingly.
  • Identify, drive and optimize revenue from business opportunities by leveraging HID technologies.
  • Build trusting relationships with technology decision-makers and influencers; gain a deep understanding of the channel partners' technology and business strategy.
  • Collaborate with HID Product Marketing and Engineering teams on customer requirements and perspectives; provide regular partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management.
  • Maintain a strong technical command of the HID portfolio; learn new technical concepts by leveraging internal experts and external resources such as field experts and technical articles.
  • Listen and understand customer goals and design solutions for large-scale, diverse environments.
  • Organize demos and proofs of concept (POC) to properly represent HID during seminars, conferences and tradeshows.
Qualifications and Background
  • Excellent industry knowledge and a willingness to keep up with trends.
  • Understanding and experience of the access control and/or IT sales channel market preferred.
  • Technical and market experience in IT security and network solutions with emphasis on authentication preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; strong technical aptitude and ability to convey complex concepts.
  • Understanding of channel-based sales/marketing is a plus.
  • Location within an hour from an airport with international connections; comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken); additional European languages are beneficial.
Education and Experience
  • BEng or BSc degree in a technology-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sales engineering, systems engineering, technical sales or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in physical access control systems.
  • Proven and verifiable track record of successful technical sales leadership.
  • Strong time management, communication, decision-making, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required; fluent in French and English; additional European languages are beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, and international technical standards.
Required Technical Skills
  • Deep understanding of the components of a Physical Access Control Solution and how they interact.
  • RFID and electronics knowledge.
  • Understanding of how software solutions talk to each other using APIs.
  • Structure and representation of digital information (bits, bytes, JSON, CSV, etc.).
  • Networking (routers, switches, TCP/IP, MQTT, TLS, etc.).
