Main duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the OSB Maintenance Lead's position is to perform a diversified list of duties including installation, repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvements on all equipment and systems. The maintenance lead must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals
  • Assist in construction and repair projects requiring basic level of carpentry, masonry, and plumbing knowledge
  • Adjust machinery as needed to ensure production of a quality product
  • Assist in installation of all new equipment, components, and systems according to plans and specifications
  • Assist in start-up and shut-down of equipment as needed
  • Work closely with machine operators and maintenance electricians to ensure work is conducted in a safe manner
  • Work closely with management to identify and correct potential electrical and mechanical safety hazards
  • Report all identified safety hazards to the appropriate member of management
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled or directed
  • Ensure all safety guarding and protection devices are in place prior to reenergizing equipment.
  • Maintain record of work performed in accordance with maintenance and repair system
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor
