Position Summary: Ignite Your Career at Villanova University! This role is responsible for establishing and managing relationships with major donor prospects and existing major donors, planning and implementing major gift strategies in support of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences priorities, and coordinating with central advancement services.
Villanova University is organized in a semi-decentralized model; with College-based development officers supported by central services. The Major Gift Officer (MGO) will represent Villanova University and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Primary duties include managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, and designing cultivation and solicitation strategies in alignment with operating/work plans and stewardship plans.
The MGO will solicit prospects and identify alumni, faculty, volunteers and friends who can advance the development function. The MGO is expected to conduct approximately 12 prospect visits per month and manage a portfolio of 125 prospects per year. The MGO will assume stewardship responsibilities in coordination with the Director of Stewardship. College-based officers work with individuals with gift capacity of $100,000 or greater. The MGO also serves as the University Advancement liaison to the Center for Irish Studies and the Matthew J. Ryan Center for the Study of Free Institutions and the Public Good.
