Role Overview

As a key member of the Legal Indirect Procurement team, you will play a strategic role in supporting the Indirect Procurement function across the Alstom Group. You will work closely with procurement stakeholders to provide legal expertise and ensure compliance across a wide range of contractual and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and support negotiating procurement-related agreements for Alstom Group (including Master Services Agreements, Framework Agreements, Services Agreements, Local Services Agreements, and Settlement Agreements).
  • Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance issues, including data privacy (GDPR), intellectual property, export control, and other regulatory topics.
  • Monitor and interpret new legislation, assessing its impact on Indirect Procurement activities.
  • Lead and enhance agile processes for contract development, review, and negotiation; provide legal guidance on procurement transactions at all levels; update and optimize standard documentation to protect the company’s interests and manage risk.
  • Support Procurement Managers in claim management, dispute resolution, and legal matters during contract execution.
  • Ensure regular quality reporting, identifying risks and opportunities, and escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Liaise with external law firms for specialized legal support.
  • Deliver legal training and awareness sessions to Procurement and other functions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified lawyer (Master’s degree) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally gained in-house or in private practice within an international environment.
  • Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating international commercial contracts, as well as handling compliance matters (e.g., anti-bribery, anti-corruption, fraud, antitrust, export control, privacy, enterprise risk management).
  • Strong team spirit and business acumen, adaptable and resilient personality, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and ability to operate effectively in a multicultural and multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise non-legal stakeholders on complex legal issues in clear, practical terms.
  • Professional proficiency in English. Additional language skills (especially French) are considered an asset.

  • Solid understanding of procurement dynamics in a multicultural environment with major market players.
  • Comfortable working within a global, matrix-based organization.
