Our client, a leading international bank, is seeking a Legal Counsel at VP level with strong Capital Markets experience to join its high-performing legal team in Paris. This position has arisen due to continued business growth and offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions in a dynamic environment.

Role Overview

As Legal Counsel, you will focus primarily on Derivatives and Fixed Income products. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and advising on derivatives and fixed income documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You will also play a key role in the execution of such documentation, working closely with internal stakeholders across the bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate documentation related to derivatives and fixed income transactions.
  • Provide legal advice on relevant regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, risk management, and external regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the wider legal team and business units on capital markets initiatives.
Requirements
  • 5–10 years’ PQE, gained within a commercial law firm or the legal team of a financial institution.
  • Proven experience with derivatives documentation, including FBF Master Agreements, ISDA and DRV Master Agreements, schedules, Credit Support Annexes, and related security and intercreditor documentation.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken).
