Job Description

You join the "Energy Engineers" team as a Junior Energy Engineer, where you will participate in the development of the activity of the Industry Group 'Energy Transition & Natural Resources (ETNR) to support its clients in their transition efforts within four verticals : Energy Security & Decarbonization, Critical Metals & Minerals, Food & Agri and Low-Carbon Energies. Under the supervision of the manager of this team, you will provide technical analyses as an expert and actively participate in the commercial development of ETNR.

On a daily basis, your missions are to :
  • Analyze the energy projects of clients from all verticals ETNR on very diverse topics (Oil & Gas, Geothermal, Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage, Hydrogen, Bioenergies, Battery value chain, SAF / E fuels, etc.);
  • Control the technical and technological risks related to financing and operations;
  • Define the technical assumptions and sensitivity cases for financial models allowing calibration of credit proposals ;
  • Ensure control and mastery of the technical risks related to the financing of energy activities by ensuring technical credibility vis-à-vis our clients and other banks, particularly as a potential "Technical Bank" in a banking pool;
  • Actively participate in the search for new clients alongside Industry Bankers, by mapping prospects and building pitches and financing offers.

As a Junior Energy Engineer, you participate in various activities such as regularly reviewing the client portfolio in terms of performance (basic borrowing reviews and annual reviews), active participation in deal teams as part of advisory mandates (debt, equity, M&A) with the internal teams or partner boutiques of Natixis CIB, as well as the audit of installations and operational and environmental procedures during international site visits (Technical due diligence).

Required Skills / Qualifications / Experience
About you :

With a higher education (engineering school), you have at least 3 years of experience in the field of energy engineering, with a potential specialization in geology / underground or process engineering (petrochemistry, hydrogen).

You master :
  • The analysis of projects;
  • Portfolio and risk management.

You have excellent interpersonal skills, a very good ability to listen, you are :

  • Able to analyze, integrate new topics and synthesize information in a clear way;
  • Equipped with excellent communication skills with internal teams, clients and prospects.

You master English with a B2 level.
