Responsibilities include supporting directors, preparing cost estimates, and managing the tender process. About The Role

As a member of thecost management team, you will take part in service delivery for real estate projects projects – from early cost advice to settlement of the final account.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies.
  • Cost planning.
  • Cost-in-use studies - study of the cost of building maintenance.
  • Advising on and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.
  • Preparing bids for services.
  • Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.
  • Settling final accounts.
  • Providing technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects.
  • Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
  • Producing and presenting reports to Customers.
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance

About You

Who we’re looking for :

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • Previous cost management experience in major real estate related construction projects.
  • Knowledge of French construction regulation
  • Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Knowledge of contractual forms of engineering missions, project management assistance, project management and in particular the MOP law and the NFP 03.001
  • Understanding of national legislation impacting on building contracts
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
  • Organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Professional level of English and French
Qualifications
  • Bac+2 to Bac+5, engineering school or equivalent
  • Diploma in the field of Construction Economics
