Job Position : IT Business Partner - VP/Director Level

Job Description :

The purpose of this role is to ensure maximum business benefits are gained through consolidated business IT plans. This is an individual contributor role dedicated to coordination and liaison activities with the Business and IT, applying best practices for the business use of IT. The individual will drive consolidation and optimization of business processes across functions and engage with technical and operational teams to ensure an optimal system solution is implemented and planned for release into the organization.

The role will work with business sponsors, analysts, architects, engineers, and project managers to consolidate efforts during the planning and execution of business strategies and IT projects. The incumbent will also collaborate with the Corporate Strategy team to align business and IT plans, and with the Business Excellence team to incorporate quality compliance into business-as-usual activities.

With support from the Architecture Board, this role will:

  • Promote that budgets and resources are directed toward long-term strategic initiatives,
  • Manage stakeholder relationships by articulating the reasons behind strategic directions,
  • Develop 'Change Agents' within respective functions to support and manage adoption plans.

The role will be responsible for leading collaboration between IT and business owners to ensure end-to-end process optimization, reducing costs, and increasing productivity through technology solutions that create business value and industry advantage. This includes engaging leadership to adopt best standards in defining, documenting, and managing business processes, data, and rules, and translating this into IT plans scheduled with the IT organization.

Major Activities

  • Articulate best practice business processes and capabilities
  • Develop and maintain Business and Systems roadmaps
  • Lead design, optimization, documentation, and implementation of end-to-end business processes
  • Manage Change Management initiatives
  • Align corporate, business, and IT strategy plans
  • Support Business Excellence and NPI (New Product Introduction) stage gating validation
  • Support onboarding of new products and services, ensuring compliance through checklists, testing, and user adoption
  • Manage quarterly Roadmap and AOP reviews
  • Conduct monthly strategy reviews with sponsors and stakeholders
  • Prepare artifacts for IT Steering committee reviews for Board level

Qualifications:

  • Portfolio/Program Management certifications required
  • TMF certification desirable
  • Business/Enterprise architecture certifications desired
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Master’s Degree desirable

Skills Required

  • Experience with global telecom providers preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Telco and IT domains
  • Experience with OSS/BSS functional areas such as Opportunity and Order Management, Customer Care, CRM, Workflow, Data Mining & Warehousing, Self-Care Portals, Product Lifecycle, Service Delivery & Assurance, Inventory & Asset Management, Billing & Financials
  • Understanding of complex network technologies (e.g., SDH/SONET, Ethernet, MPLS, VOIP, IP VPN, WiMax)
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies and support processes

Work Experience

  • 10+ years in Telecom
  • At least 5 years in management roles
  • Program & Portfolio Management experience
  • Experience developing processes for global service providers
  • 3+ years applying Six Sigma and TOGAF methodologies (certification preferred)
  • Experience in developing and executing business strategies
