Our ambition is to develop magnetic support able to capture metals and/or organic compounds (PFAS, dyes, pesticide, metabolites…) based on magnetite functionalized with specific organic ligands. The pollutants will be extracted and concentrated from various contaminated waters by simple magnetization and the magnetic support will be regenerated. This innovative depolluting process has been patented (publication in 2026). This is a new process of separation which reduces the energy cost, save water, recycle metals limiting economic dependence and preserve resources. The project aims to optimize the process and extend the applications in direct relation with industrials needs. This new technology will improve the industrial performance and environmental waste management by capturing, concentrating pollutants with a recyclable magnetic support.
The candidate has a PhD in organic chemistry and/or analytical chemistry with strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and analytical methods. She/he has to be creative, and highly motivated to join a multidisciplinary research team. Knowledge in the practice of supramolecular chemistry and a background in analysis and functionalization of surface will be considered as an asset. Chemist exhibiting a specific interest in pollution control and industrial partnership would be preferred.
