The opportunity is for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at Sephora. The HRBP acts as an advisor and thought partner to leaders, delivering strategic and tactical HR support and programs aligned with Sephora’s financial and talent goals. You will provide leadership and partnership to management and employees to support performance, development, and employee-related activities, with accountability for the Retail Asset Protection team.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Partnership: Partner with Regional Asset Protection Directors and District Asset Protection Managers to align HR strategies with business goals; advise leaders on talent decisions, team dynamics, and leadership development; lead change management efforts to support organizational effectiveness.
  • Talent Management & Development: Drive performance management and feedback; lead talent reviews, succession planning, promotions, and leadership coaching; facilitate training and development initiatives; manage annual HR cycles including performance reviews, talent calibration, and compensation planning.
  • Culture, Engagement & HR Analytics: Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture; lead employee engagement and retention strategies; analyze HR metrics to identify trends, support data-driven decision making, and recommend solutions; support culture-building programs.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Conduct and manage employee relations investigations; ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies; manage LOA and accommodation processes (FMLA, ADA, religious, personal); handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Projects & Areas of Responsibility (AORs): Assist with cyclical HR programs and cross-functional initiatives; coordinate training logistics and overflow tasks; lead or contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvements; support broader HR initiatives regionally and company-wide.
Experience & Qualifications

HR Experience: Progressive HR experience including HRBP or generalist roles, preferably in retail or multi-unit environments; experience in Retail and/or Asset Protection is a plus. 5+ years total, 3+ years as HRBP

Leadership & Relationship Building: Proven ability to lead through change, influence decisions, and build strong relationships across all levels. 3+ years

HR Functional Expertise: Broad knowledge across performance management, succession planning, employee relations, employment law and compliance, LOA, and accommodation. 3+ years

Analytical & Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret HR data, build presentations, tell a data-driven story, and make actionable recommendations. 3+ years

Self-Management & Accountability: Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, and consistent delivery of high-quality work with ownership of outcomes. 3+ years

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • PHR/SPHR from HRCI and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP from SHRM

The annual base salary range for this position is $138,000.00–$148,000.00. The actual base salary offered depends on factors including qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location. Bonuses may be eligible.
