A local government entity is seeking a candidate for a technical role in information systems, responsible for supporting the Community Services Department. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant IT experience. You will monitor systems, develop reports, and ensure data quality while collaborating with leadership and contractors in a dynamic environment.

  • Equivalent combination of relevant training, certification, or experience will be considered.

Overview

This position will work 37.5 hours per week. The position allocated to this class performs technical, analytical work involving the information systems of the Community Services Department (CSD). Incumbents apply their understanding of the Department’s objectives and processes to perform complex systems support involving the development, maintenance, administration, and evaluation of the information systems utilized by the Department. Work is performed under the direction of the Healthcare Information & Systems Management Supervisor and functions within a team of departmental staff and contractor staff, as applicable.

NOTE: Three (3) PROFESSIONAL references are required.

TOTAL COMPENSATION: $83,341 - $116,089 annually. Total compensation is an estimate based upon base compensation, median retirement fund contributions, and current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates (including medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, and leave). The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices.

  • Ensuresdataprocessing projectsareprioritized, timelyandaccurate. Ensure schedulingandtimelinessof datareportingto and fromcontracted entities.
  • Monitorstheinformation systemsto determine quality, consistency, accuracyof datainputandoutput.
  • Writesandgenerates reportsforreviewby CSD leadershipforeffective management of utilizationandgoals.
  • Documentstheelectronicdatainformation specifications, developandmaintain informationflowcharts. Maintainsup to datemaster client indexflowcharts,dataentry processes, and the dataacquisitionandreporting systemsforCSD information systems.
  • Participatesin programmatic committeesandmeetingswithleadership staffto ensure thatthe datasystemsaremeetingtheobjectivesof thetreatment programs.
  • Facilitates the Information System Committee for providers of mental health.
  • Determinesdataneedsandchanges/updatesto theinformation systems. Assists with system configuration, programming,and data changes.
  • Maintains the information services policies and procedures for the CSD and provider treatment agencies.
  • Monitorstheprovider treatment agenciesfordisaster recovery, information system requirements, andclinical encounters basedon federal and state contracts and requirements.
  • Evaluates network service outages to ensure that they are resolved in an orderly, timely manner and to reduce instances and recurrences.
  • Assists, trainsandservesas an escalation pointforemployeesin lower classifications. Analyzesandresolve technical problemsandquestions.
  • Providescostestimatesfor newcomputer systems, upgrade parts,andperipherals for CSD.
  • Functionsas CSD liaisonto ISD fornetworkandsystems issues,as wellas HELPDesk requests.
  • Assiststhe DataQuality Techniciansto provide timelyandaccurate informationto providers.
  • Monitors backupandrecovery processesto ensurethe safe andsmooth restoration of business operationsin theeventof technical failureor disasters.
  • Developsandmanages project plansand datareporting basedon requestsfromCSD leadership, external contractors,or provider agencies.
  • Performsall thedutiesof subordinate level classifications.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science or closely related field, and
  • Four (4) years relevant work experience in the Information Technology field.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant training, certification or experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
