Interim Head of Accounting

Location : Paris (hybrid) | Type : Freelance Mission (Full Time)

Day Rate : €500 per day

We’re working with a fast-growing, highly regulated financial services firm in Paris that’s looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to join on an initial 4-month freelance mission , with the strong potential to transition into a permanent leadership role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, scaling environment where you’ll take ownership of accounting operations and play a key role in building out the local finance function.

The Role

You will be responsible for :

• Leading the accounting function for the French entity
• Preparing statutory and consolidated accounts under French GAAP and IFRS
• Driving the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Managing policy updates to align with regulatory and group standards
• Supporting audits and advising on accounting / reporting issues
• Defining and improving consolidation and control processes
• Helping establish and grow the local accounting team

Who We’re Looking For

7–10 years’ experience in accounting / controlling within the banking or wider financial services sector

Proven expertise in IFRS and consolidated reporting

Fluent in French and English

Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach

Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Key Details

Contract : Initial 4 months (freelance / independent contractor) – strong potential to convert to a permanent role

Rate : €500 per day (depending on experience)

Location : Paris – 1–2 days per week in the office (near Gare du Nord)

Requirement : Must have prior banking / financial services experience and be eligible to work as a freelancer in France
