EXPERIENCED HEAD HOUSEKEEPER / HOSPITALITY MANAGER POSITION

About the Property: The apartment is located in Paris. It is privately owned. The family is very nice and respectful, willing to find a candidate on a long term basis. They evolve around different properties in Europe. The position is LIVE OUT (but there is a possibility of a LIVE IN if needed).

The Project

We are looking for one Experienced Housekeeper ready to start working towards the beginning of October, before if possible. The owners are conducting a proper recruitment process to find THE candidate; the path will be based on this.

For this specific position, we aim to find someone with deep operational skills in Housekeeping, Service and Laundry, as well as excellent managerial skills to supervise and assist a team of 3 Housekeepers, liaise with the Chef and the Butlers. You are a real Leader: hands-on and able to supervise, but also willing to take on higher duties such as organizing events with florists or managing decor, catering, shopping for the home when needed.

You will be well organized and capable of cross-managing to develop your legitimacy as a manager and to build strong relationships with your team. You will liaise with the family’s calendar and PA based on their attendance in Paris or at various properties. As Hospitality Manager, you will be the main contact between the family and the property managers.

The workload is lighter in the owners’ absence and heavier when they are present. Flexibility is a key factor, but the family is fair in adjusting total working hours over a month. You will supervise all departments including housekeeping, service and laundry.

Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping: vacuuming/cleaning floors, making beds, changing linens, cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, replenishing toiletries and supplies, maintaining dust-free, tidy main areas and living spaces according to the owners’ habits.
  • Laundry: manage household linen when the family is in the apartment (towels, bathrobes, bath mats, bed sheets, pillowcases, kitchen towels, table linens, etc.); wash, stain removal, drying, ironing, wardrobe / dressings cleaning, deep wardrobe cleaning, changing bedsheets. Coordinate with dry cleaners as needed. Train the team for wardrobe management and inventory alignment.
  • Table Service: when needed and with the Butlers’ assistance - meal service, setting the dining area, serving discreetly and professionally.
  • Additional Elements: cupboards inventory and refills; organizing books in libraries; pharmacy management (checking expiry dates, assigning a team member); wardrobe management; inventory management (equipment, furniture, supplies, wine cellars) with monthly inventories and procurement as needed.
  • Staff Management: interview, recruit, train, and supervise staff; plan work schedules and assign tasks; delegate in a positive, non-bossy manner.
  • Property Management: supervise daily maintenance of homes, outbuildings, pools, courts, cars; manage service-provider contracts; plan regular maintenance; liaise with Villa Managers across properties; prepare topic-based reports; conduct inspections; coordinate family arrivals; maintain house manuals; organize weekly staff meetings with the on-site team.
Desired profile / Qualifications
  • You must be very autonomous and able to report to and respect your hierarchy.
  • You are a true team leader with strong human-relations skills.
  • You are passionate about service and comfortable working in private households; previous Head Housekeeper or Housekeeper experience is mandatory.
  • Experience in a private UHNW household is mandatory.
  • Strong hard skills in housekeeping, service, and laundry, with soft skills to train and elevate your team.
  • Multitasking, flexible, and able to follow existing processes or implement new ones as needed.
  • Discreet, trustworthy, confidential, positive, and skilled in human relations and communication.
  • Organized with good time management and the ability to adapt to seasonal workload variations.
  • Must speak French and English fluently; other languages are a plus.
  • Must have a driving license and a clean criminal record; references required.
  • Must have a vehicle access or ability to commute, as public transport is not reliable for access to the villa.
Salary & Contract
  • Salary: To be defined – based on profile and experience (example given in multiple postings).
  • Contract: Permanent French CDI (or local equivalent as described).
  • Work Arrangement: LIVE OUT position; some flexibility depending on client presence.
