A leading financial services organization based in Paris is seeking an experienced Group IFRS leader. This role involves guiding the group on financial reporting in compliance with IFRS standards while advising on business transactions. The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled financial professional who will be in charge of guiding the group to report its financial results in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and to advise on structuring business transactions to optimally contribute to the financial results.

In this role you’ll report to the Group Head of Consolidation & Norms.

About the team

Consolidation & Norms is responsible for the group financial reporting process. It prepares the mother companies financial reports and directs and facilitates the group companies accounting functions to contribute effectively, timely and efficiently.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • You monitor changes in rules, regulations, interpretations and jurisprudence in expertise fields which could impact the group’s financial reporting, like IFRS, tax and civil code.
  • You maintain the group accounting policies.
  • You advise on how to structure major business transactions in order to optimally fit the financial effects to the group strategy.
  • You advise the group top financial management on the accounting for major events impacting the group’s financials.
  • You educate Finance professionals on applying the group accounting policies.
  • You provide 2nd line consultancy to material and non-routine accounting matters (1st line consultancy is provided by Global Business Lines and local accounting experts).
  • On behalf of the group, you discuss major and non-routine accounting positions with auditors and their professional practices experts.
  • Accounting positions taken on your recommendation are accepted by the external auditors.
  • Stakeholders at all levels within the group benefit from your ability to understand business restrictions and opportunities, and to identify structuring options that allow an accounting treatment in line with financial strategy.
  • Auditors and senior management recognize your authority as IFRS expert.

Skills we'd like
  • University education in Finance.
  • Understanding of tax and civil code legislation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of other relevant languages (notably French and German) is a plus.
