Overview

Amazon is seeking an employee benefits manager to join our Europe Benefits team. This role focuses on the strategy and delivery of benefits for France data mining and AI resources development to enhance our employees experience and will partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners on the strategy design and delivery of employee benefits. Qualified candidates have industry experience in managing multi-country benefit programs and in leading teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, works effectively with internal and external contacts, and can manage multiple critical projects concurrently through to successful completion, while developing and improving programs and service delivery in a highly dynamic environment.

This role will be based in Paris.

Key job responsibilities
  • Strategic Benefit Management and Design – responsible for country benefit plans (statutory requirements and typical market practices) and developing benefit program proposals that align to Amazon’s Global Benefits Strategy. Create and execute a strategic roadmap across all benefit pillars, handling both tactical and strategic aspects of large programs and the lifecycle of complex initiatives.
  • Implementation – responsible for all implementation activities of approved benefit programs including selection and setup of benefit providers, creating project plans, assembling resources, and developing and documenting processes and policies through the stabilization period.
  • Governance – ensure programs align to Amazon’s benefit philosophy and comply with local regulatory requirements (including liaising with works councils). Monitor costs, financial impact, future funding requirements, competitiveness of packages, and adherence to regulatory, legal, and best-practice approaches.
  • Business Acumen & Program Management – apply deep industry knowledge to develop program/process designs with minimal direction, write documents, and present recommendations. Provide consultation and subject-matter expertise to influence business leaders. Partner with internal and external business partners to research, provide input, and make recommendations on program guidelines and policies. Manage senior-level escalations to resolution, enhance programs, and drive policy changes to meet employee and business needs. Share budgeting responsibilities with business and finance partners, conducting ongoing business analysis to deliver cost-efficient programs.
  • Consulting – become a trusted advisor to Amazon Health Benefits team, Financial Wellbeing, local HR, payroll, and our vendors to ensure high-quality delivery of all benefit programs and initiatives.
  • Communication and Influence – communicate the value of new or existing benefits programs and provide recommendations for design changes that will enhance employee quality of life and influence leaders and stakeholders to obtain buy-in and approvals.
  • Ambiguity and Complexity – work independently with limited guidance, navigating ambiguity where business problems may not be well-defined. Provide significant impact supporting organizational goals and program-related metrics, drive detailed discussions and high-level alignment, and communicate clearly. Present decisions to leaders up to three tiers above their level and communicate across diverse areas such as legal compliance, employment relations, and finance.
  • Vendor management – set standards for vendor performance, monitor performance issues, and ensure resolutions.
  • Identify pain points in current benefits programs that could be improved with AI; develop a vision for how AI can enhance outcomes such as engagement, cost-efficiency, or wellness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR or related field

Proven experience managing multi-country benefits programs

Deep knowledge of benefit design and administration including healthcare, pensions, payroll integration, and tax implications

Experience leading teams and managing large-scale projects from design through execution

Language proficiency in French and English (C1 CEFR)

Experience with large-scale global employee benefit plans, programs development and delivery. Excellent English written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.

Ability to influence business leaders

Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and discretion through ambiguous phases of expansion and project development.

Strong sense of accountability, sound personal judgment, and global business acumen.

Great organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.

Proven abilities in vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure quality service to Amazon.

Verbal and written communication skills including the proven ability to effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with business partners and teams to meet operational goals.

Successful record of building operational processes and procedures as well as global partnerships driving program efficiency along with measuring and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
