Overview of the Company

MUFG's Leveraged Capital Markets team is responsible for the origination and execution of high-yield bond and leveraged loan transactions. This includes both underwritten and best efforts transactions for corporate and sponsor-owned clients across EMEA.

The team is part of MUFG's Capital Markets platform and is currently based in London. Consistent with MUFG's wider Leveraged Finance growth strategy, the team is expanding and setting up a presence in Paris.

Main Purpose of the Role

The objective of EU DSG is to develop a sustainable, client-focused business providing our Corporate and Financial Sponsor clients with fixed income derivative-based solutions to help them achieve their risk management objectives.

Key Responsibilities
FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT
  • Deliver and grow a sustainable, client-focused derivatives solutions business.
  • Maximize profitability from leveraging and enhancing the Group's customer franchise.
  • Work in partnership with Sales, Trading, and Research in MUFG International to deliver products that meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams in other Group entities to advance the business, protect, and enhance the firm's and the Group's reputation.
  • Contribute to the company's revenue targets and enhance MUFG's worldwide franchise.
CLIENT DEVELOPMENT
  • Expand the size and diversity of the client base.
  • Create trade ideas and new business proposals proactively.
  • Meet client inquiries with competitive pricing and structured solutions.
  • Explain risks and rewards of products clearly, providing all necessary information for informed decisions.
  • Promote cross-market sales opportunities and provide insights into customer flow and product demand.
RISK MANAGEMENT (WHERE APPLICABLE)
  • Manage relevant risks within the firm's risk appetite, using advanced risk management models and tools.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a risk-sensitive manner, ensuring solutions are appropriate and meet best execution standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Volcker, EMIR, MIFID) and internal policies.
  • Price transactions and risk positions accurately, utilizing advanced pricing and hedging methodologies.
  • Support and implement global governance standards through effective compliance procedures.
BUSINESS STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT
  • Develop EU DSG's participation in the firm's overall business strategy.
  • Manage and develop client relationships to enhance MUFG's franchise.
CONTROLS AND COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk, compliance, controls, and procedures.
  • Follow all policies and procedures personally and ensure team members do the same.
Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Derivatives.
Skills and Experience - Functional / Technical Competencies
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Mandatory language skills: French and English.
  • Knowledge of the customer base.
  • Extensive knowledge of FX and Derivatives.
  • Deep understanding of xVA pricing components.
  • Team player.
  • Additional European language skills are a plus.
