This position is based in our Headquarters located in Lyon (7e) and reports to the R&D and Capabilities Director.
MISSION
- Lead cross-functional working groups to define and implement improvements in the development process and design methodologies.
- Analyze current development activities and tools to improve their usage and efficiency.
- Train teams on development processes and activities.
- Support project teams in implementing the development process.
- Evaluate the efficiency of development process application through audits, design reviews, etc.
- Contribute to mapping and improving the development workflow.
- Guide teams on how to improve their ways of working and train them on new workflows and procedures.
ACTIVITIES
- Development of standards and improvement of development procedures.
- Follow-up and facilitation of SME-related topics.
- Participation in project reviews to support teams.
- Conduct training sessions and support change management.
- Apply and enforce procedures and instructions related to quality, environment, health & safety, confidentiality, and good manufacturing practices.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering, or product design.
- Technical background in product design and development.
- Experience in detailed design and development of complex products and in leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience in continuous improvement within an innovation and development environment.
- Knowledge of design and development for mass production products, including machinery and plastic injection.
SKILLS
- Broad understanding of the product development process across various verticals.
- Ability to understand constraints and priorities of different SMEs, and to unite teams toward optimal compromises without imposing personal views.
- Capacity to maintain focus on the overall picture and objectives without getting lost in details.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English: able to explain concepts, lead training sessions, synthesize and rephrase ideas, and write instructions, procedures, and training materials.
- Lean mindset: challenge the status quo, identify simplification opportunities, and question established habits.
- Ability to work independently, lead groups, and maintain motivation without external pressure.
