Description du poste

Under the general clinical supervision of the assigned dentist, the dental hygienist provides support to facilitate the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients at New Horizon Family Dental Care. Additionally, the dental hygienist assists in supervising dental hygiene students rotating at the dental office.

DUTIES PERFORMED

• Performs clinical examination of teeth and surrounding tissues, records findings, and treatment plans in the electronic dental record.
• Removes hard and soft deposits and stains from teeth.
• Applies fluoride varnish and pit and fissure sealants.
• Provides patient instruction and counseling on oral hygiene, nutrition, and dietary issues.
• Exposes radiographs and files them in the digital patient database.
• Performs periodontal charting accurately and provides appropriate recommendations and treatment plans for periodontal patients.
• Performs duties of an expanded duty dental assistant when required.
• Ensures the work area is safe, clean, well-organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Maintains a cooperative and professional environment with coworkers and patients.
• Adheres to OSHA, EPA, and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist program and radiography certification.

Work Experience:

• SC licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
• Computer literacy and experience with electronic dental record systems.
