Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We are expanding our Data Center Cabling Technician team in France. This is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast-paced data centers in the world.

Responsibilities

• Installing cabling and new racks within the data centers.
• Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure.
• Adhere to standard processes and best practices.
• Installation and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Creating / attaching labels and barcodes.
• Managing inventory of related materials.
• Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
• Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
• Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environments.

You will be working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

Qualifications

• 2 / 3 years of structured cabling (Copper / Fiber) installation and/or network technician experience.
• Complete understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of cabling systems (Copper / Fiber test equipment OTDR, Network analyzer, VFL, etc.).
• Ability to work at heights off of a ladder and in confined spaces; lift up to 16 kg with equipment.
• Data center structured cabling infrastructure experience.
• Data center infrastructure knowledge.
• Familiar with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, etc.).
