A local government entity is seeking a Customer Service Clerk to provide exceptional service at the library. Candidates should have a high school diploma, minimum six months of customer service experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Fluency in a foreign language is highly preferred. The role includes assisting customers with information, library resources, and youth programs. This position operates on a rotating shift, including evenings and weekends, in a supportive work environment valuing diversity.
The Houston Public Library (HPL) is seeking team‑oriented people with a passion for customer service to work as Customer Service Clerks in our Neighborhood Libraries.
Rotating shift: Monday–Sunday, 8:00 am–8:00 pm. Work one evening a week and every other weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) 8:00 am–8:15 pm.
The position may require stooping or bending, occasional light lifting (up to 20 lb). Normal office environment conditions.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants, provided they possess the necessary qualifications.
Grade 10.
