A leader in agricultural raw materials is seeking a Physical Trading Manager for sugar to oversee Mediterranean, Middle East, and East African markets. This role requires strong market analysis skills, risk management, and fluent communication in English and Arabic. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. For more information, visit tereos.com Contract : Permanent Position location : 1 rue de Senlis, Moussy-le-Vieux, Seine-et-Marne, 77230, FRA Your main mission : Reporting to the Head of Physical Trading - Sugar, this position is primarily responsible for Mediterranean, Middle East, and East African markets, playing a central role in the definition of the target regions' origination sources, merchandising, distribution and general trading strategy for white sugar. The role will require : - An in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the global physical sugar market - The identification, development and risk management of white sugar buyers in the target regions - The preparation of offers and execution of sugar sales contracts from Brazil, India, EU and other origins - The development of relationships with the key players of this market, including producers, refiners, trade houses and freight brokers - The accurate compilation and communication of the regional S&D statistics Your day-to-day activities : The person will work closely with the Head of Physical Trading - Sugar and the Global Sugar Trading Team to : - Define and execute the strategic physical sugar trading business plan - Ensure that relevant trading limits are adhered to and reported in a timely manner - Formulate and advise domestic and world market strategies to the Group and its key customers regularly or when requested - Development of the Group's sourcing, distribution and trading opportunities for white sugar within the regions of responsibility - Management of the risks involved in trading white sugar at origin and at destination - Fostering a solid partnership with the Group's export teams in Brazil and Europe to optimise the export program of Group sugars, both in terms of price and logistics - Constant monitoring of container and breakbulk freight markets and parities - Bringing to the Group a view of white sugar markets, enabling the Trade entity in Tereos to best advise on pricing strategies for Group sugars - Diligently communicating on the commercialization and trading strategy for white sugar - Maintaining a solid understanding of the dynamics of physical values of the origins traditionally supplying the regions of responsibility - Monitoring of production (yield and acreage), consumption, stock, import, export and intra-regional flow information as well as regular local market price updates - Working closely with the Head of Market Research and Global Sugar Trading Team to maintain the accuracy of trade statistics for the regions of responsibility, constantly questioning the Group's assumptions - Keeping abreast of long-term trends in the markets to BE covered, including developments in regional trading unions to ensure on-going access can BE achieved - Ensuring the accurate administration of all related physical positions including the issuance of purchase / sale agreements Your profile : - Postgraduate in Financial Markets, Business school or Engineering School (Bac +5) - Minimum 3 years of experience in related positions - First-hand experience in the trading of soft commodities is mandatory - Languages : fluent in English and Arabic, French is a plus Reasons to join us : Joining Tereos means giving yourself the opportunity to develop within a cooperative group that is a leader in its markets.
