The American University of the Caribbean (AUC) School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Biochemistry Faculty Member to join our vibrant Medical Sciences Campus in Sint Maarten. If you’re passionate about medical education and supporting students as they transition into medical school, we invite you to be part of a collaborative, student-centered academic community.

This position will serve a dual role of supporting delivery of the MedOrigin course, a 10-credit course designed to provide incoming medical students with curated foundational knowledge, practical skills, and strategies necessary for success in medical school prior to the start of their first semester, and Biochemistry instruction in the standard MD Program curriculum, particularly with remediation support as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver engaging lectures and active learning sessions in Biochemistry and foundational medical sciences.
• Prepare course materials including handouts, practice questions, and digital resources.
• Facilitate small group learning and individualized remediation plans for students needing academic support.
• Collaborate with the Academy for Teaching and Learning to align remediation with curricular goals.
• Advise students on academic matters and refer them to appropriate support services.
• Write and review NBME-style questions for practice and assessments.
• Prepare and evaluate examinations to measure student progress.
• Continuously improve instructional materials and teaching techniques.
• Participate in curriculum review and development with departmental colleagues.
• Engage in professional development to enhance teaching and subject expertise.
• Serve on faculty committees and contribute to university initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all institutional policies and standards.
