Purpose
As an assistant hotel manager, you oversee day‑to‑day hotel operations, inspire your team, maximize revenue, control costs, and ensure guest and employee safety.
Guest Satisfaction
- Welcome guests and assist with kiosk check‑in/out
- Maintain a clean, comfortable environment
- Know local attractions and recommend experiences
- Handle reservations and administrative matters
- Work with the hotel management system
- Manage daily SocietyM meeting rooms and functions where applicable
Stewardship
- Lead, encourage, and inspire ambassadors to support citizenM operational procedures
- Ensure a sound understanding of citizenM brand values
- Coach, train, develop talent, provide feedback and monthly evaluations
- Demonstrate excellent problem analysis skills and decision making
- Create shift schedules, ensure adequate cover at all times, and assign daily tasks
- Be responsible for your own personal planning and work organization
- Understand hotel legislation: employment law, health & safety, food safety, alcohol licensing, first aid, and fire safety
Food & Beverage
- Work with the team to serve our guest canteenM
- Work with Point of Sale system
- Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge of canteenM and guarantee quality
- Manage daily F&B revenue targets and drive commitment to monthly results
Revenue Opportunities
- Seek opportunities to generate revenue while providing added value to guests
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering to manage room inventory, ensuring rooms are maintained and presented in top condition
- Report daily hotel revenue and be responsible for cash handling
Cost Control
- Manage purchasing of all food and beverage items and hotel operating equipment
- Manage inventory to minimize waste
- Respect and protect hotel property
Qualifications
- Fluent in English; additional languages considered an advantage
- Valid work permit
- At least 2 years of managerial/coaching experience; prior hotel experience not required
- Team player with excellent people skills
- Passionate about hospitality and multi‑tasking
