Overview

Title: Sheet-Metal Worker / Welder Temporary

Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morn Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management civil engineering morale welfare and recreation support among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to fabricate, weld, assemble and install sheet metal products including ductwork, roofing, siding and custom components. The ideal candidate will be able to read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and ensure work meets quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending and shaping metal to precise specifications while collaborating with other trades to complete projects on time.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Fabricate, weld and install metal products including cutting, bending and shaping metal sheets to create ducts, roofs, gutters and other metal objects.
• Perform on-time and accurate work completion in accordance with the Performance Work Statement requirements, blueprints/drawings, and/or written instructions.
• Ensure that all work tasks are completed safely, effectively, and within an appropriate time frame.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, tools and equipment as applicable.
• Actively participate in the KBR safety program to ensure the safety of all KBR employees.
• Ability to lift, carry and maneuver heavy equipment as necessary.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Work in normal and adverse weather conditions.
• Daily use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment and specialized maintenance tools.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a Spanish Class B driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal and welding career field.
• Basic understanding of metal properties, welding systems and relevant safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with various welding techniques and complementary structural work.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures for sheet metal welding and structural work.
