Software Engineer (Fixed-term contract)

As a Software Engineer, you will

• Join a world‑class team of Quantum and AI experts with an extensive track record in both academia and industry.
• Work with Fortune‑500 customers from government and private sectors.
• Collaborate with the founding team in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Tackle high‑value open problems from industry.
• Take on technical leadership and work together with software and DevOps engineers as well as our machine learning and quantum experts to industrialise Multiverse’s core technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, a related technical field or relevant industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of Python and preferably other languages such as Rust and C/C++.
• Junior: 1‑2 years of experience in software engineering with focus on machine learning and data science.
• Mid: 3+ years of experience in software engineering with focus on machine learning and data science.
• Experience in developing and deploying software systems on the cloud, e.g. AWS.
• Proficiency with git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintainable, high‑quality code through best practices such as testing, documentation, and clean design principles, and the ability to instil this in others.
• Strong ability to work with APIs and design efficient application workflows.
• Excellent communication and soft skills: a people’s person.
• Ability to work with experts from different professional backgrounds, both in‑person and through online resources.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated familiarity with developing on and with LLMs, including tools and frameworks such as HuggingFace Transformers, OpenAI APIs, vector databases, and model‑serving platforms.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks and concepts, such as Ray, Apache Spark, or distributed training/inference across GPUs and nodes.
• Experience in working with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with algorithm development and optimisation, designing scalable and robust class structures.
