Mission :

As a Senior Trading Accountant, the main objectives are:

1. Ensure proper accounting recording of transactions and reporting segregation within the Engie España legal entity, in accordance with relevant accounting rules (IFRS & local GAAP).
2. Prepare monthly reports for ENGIE headquarters using specific tools (SAP Business Planning and Consolidation) and IFRS rules.
3. Prepare annual accounts and financial statements under local GAAP and assist external auditors.
4. Provide financial inquiries or other information to public administrations.
5. Control and ensure accurate accounting for fixed assets, income tax provisions, operating expenses, etc.
6. Supervise and manage a team of 2 people, reporting to the Accounting and Consolidation Manager.
7. Review accounting results of the portfolio, balance sheet analysis, and cash flows with ENGIE ESPAA controlling team.
8. Assist in providing timely, accurate, validated, and relevant business reporting on MtM impacts.
9. Support in defining monthly closing and forecast processes for the End of Year Results of all Energy Management operations, collaborating with GEMS Middle Office and Finance teams.
10. Ensure administrative procedures, indicators, limits, processes, and reporting are in place and followed within GEMs activities.

Key skills, knowledge, and abilities :

1. At least 5 years of experience in finance roles, with strong knowledge in accounting for trading operations (financial and physical derivatives) and applicable standards (mainly IFRS 9, IFRS 13, and local GAAP).
2. Good understanding of the Spanish Energy Markets (OMIE, MIBGAS, REE, etc.) and experience in energy management and trading sectors are assets. Knowledge of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems (e.g., Meteor, Orchestrade) is a plus.
3. Relevant professional experience in the energy industry and/or trading sector.
4. Analytical and quantitative skills with a hands-on approach.
5. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and coordinate with front and middle office teams.
6. Proficiency in office tools like Excel and understanding of systems such as SAP FI, ETRM, SAP BPC.
7. Well-organized, proactive, and capable of performing under tight deadlines during reporting cycles.
8. Assertive, inquisitive, stress-resistant, with high integrity.
9. Project management skills, ability to plan and coordinate with various teams.
10. Pragmatic, logical, problem-solving attitude.
11. Driven to learn, tenacious, with a strong business drive, and a team player capable of knowledge transfer and coordination.
12. Domain expertise in derivatives, financial instruments under IFRS and local GAAP.
