The Senior Director, Operations will oversee the operational activities within the medical technology business unit, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality medical devices (software and hardware). This role is crucial in optimizing and continuously improving operational processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations to meet business unit objectives. The Senior Director, Operations will work closely with various departments, including the Global Leads Surgical Solutions, Digital Products and Dosimetry Applications, R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to drive operational excellence and support the company's strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's and business unit goals and objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality MedTech.
- Manage directly the quality team within the Medtech business unit to ensure retention of the ISO : 13485 certification and the implementation of the QMS throughout the Medtech business unit and cross-functionally, as applicable.
- Work with PMO office to build project dashboards and reporting, work with Global Leads to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects within project management and quality processes.
- Oversee product manufacturing including supply chain management across the MedTech business unit ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee product supply timelines and logistics to ensure sufficient products are available based on forecasts ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Drive the integration of Medtech processes within the parent company – including but not limited to supplier management, quality, business risk, IT usage and infrastructure.
- Oversee distributor management and post-market surveillance reporting in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Global Leads Surgical Solutions, Digital Products and Dosimetry Applications, R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to streamline processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure product and technical file compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and standards, maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and reliability.
- Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks and ensure business continuity.
- Foster relationships with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support operational activities and strategic initiatives.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the operational practices.
- Mentor and develop the operations team, providing guidance and career development support.
Education And Experience
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required; a Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within the medical technology or healthcare industry.Strong background in operational management, with experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, and quality assurance.Strong background in development and management of ISO : 13485.Proven track record of leading and delivering complex operational projects on time and within budget.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey operational concepts clearly and concisely to various audiences.Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in medical technology operations, including regulatory requirements and quality management systems.Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop operational talent.Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.Desirable Skills And Experience
Experience in the medical device or healthcare technology industry.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to medical technology operations, and FDA regulations.Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other operational management tools.Knowledge of supply chain optimization and logistics management.Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM).Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time.Key Capabilities
