Descripción del empleo

As a senior technical contributor on the simulations and design team, you will apply your expertise in advanced atom optics and laser cooling to guide the development of core technologies. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical roadmap for atom control and manipulation, and will lead hands-on efforts in physics-based modeling, simulations, and computational development.

The role
  1. Develop and implement models and simulations of laser cooling (e.g., Doppler, Raman) and atom-light interactions for neutral atom lithography.
  2. Simulate atomic beam dynamics, including trapping, deflection, and interferometry, using tools like Julia, Python, or C++.
  3. Design experimental setups and optical / vacuum components for atom manipulation, collaborating with the experimental team to bridge theory and practice.
  4. Collaborate with experimental teams to design optical systems and validate models against data. Stay current in AMO physics and quantum optics.
Requirements
  • Strong graduate-level foundation in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics, with expertise in laser cooling, atom-light interactions, quantum optics, and coherent control.
  • Solid understanding of both classical and quantum optics, including laser physics.
  • Advanced laser cooling techniques (e.g., Doppler, optical molasses, Sisyphus cooling, Raman, bichromatic / rectified dipole forces).
  • Proficient in scientific programming—Python or Julia required for modeling and simulation; additional experience with C++, MATLAB, or COMSOL is a plus.

This position has been highly popular, and it is likely that it will close shortly. We recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
