A small SaaS startup in Barcelona is seeking a hands-on accountant to manage accounting from end to end. In this role, you will handle daily accounting tasks, oversee month-end and year-end close, and ensure compliance with VAT and statutory filings. The ideal candidate will have around 3 years of experience and a solid understanding of accrual accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to be the first in-house accounting hire, enjoying real ownership and autonomy in a hybrid work setup.

Formación

• Around 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Must have full-cycle accounting ownership.
• Must be comfortable working independently.

Responsabilidades

• Run day-to-day accounting including AP/AR, GL.
• Own month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.

What you’ll do

• Run day-to-day accounting (AP/AR, GL, bank recs)
• Own month-end and year-end close
• Prepare financial statements and management reports
• Handle VAT and statutory filings (Spain/EU)
• Manage accruals, prepaids, and SaaS revenue recognition
• Work with external tax, payroll, and audit partners
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking

What we’re looking for

• ~3 years of accounting experience
• Full-cycle accounting ownership
• Comfortable working independently
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting
• SaaS/startup experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Spanish accounting & VAT
• Fluent in English (Spanish a plus)
