Descripción del empleo

Project Manager (Senior Engineer)

A unique opportunity is available for a technically skilled and strategically minded Project Manager (Senior Engineer) to lead multidisciplinary projects in a dynamic photonic foundry environment, focused on Indium Phosphide (InP) technology. This role combines deep expertise in InP device development with strong project management skills to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of photonic products from concept through commercialization.

The position involves coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing project execution, and contributing to technical innovation in InP-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and devices. The role includes direct involvement in physical implementation, DRC verification, and close interaction with PDK and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage R&D and scale-up projects aligned with InP technology roadmaps.
  • Coordinate design, development, and manufacturing transfer of InP-based products and photonic integrated circuits.
  • Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional project execution across device design, process engineering, testing, and cleanroom operations.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Track project milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation using modern project management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards specific to InP fabrication processes.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of process steps, wafer runs, and experimental results.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.
  • Support technical marketing and business development through insights into InP technology capabilities and project outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in managing R&D or industrial projects in the semiconductor or photonics field, with hands-on experience in InP technology.
  • Strong foundation in the design, development, and fabrication of InP-based devices.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex technology projects from concept to production.
Technical & Management Skills:
  • In-depth expertise in InP device fabrication techniques: MOCVD/MBE, photolithography, wet/dry etching, metallization, wafer bonding.
  • Experience with InP device structures such as lasers, photodetectors, modulators, and high-speed transistors.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations and high-frequency optical/electrical testing.
  • Proficiency with photonic design and simulation tools (e.g., KLayout, Cadence, IPKISS, Lumerical, COMSOL).
  • Strong working knowledge of Process Design Kits (PDKs) and Design Rule Checking (DRC) workflows.
  • Skilled in the use of project management platforms (e.g., ClickUp, Microsoft Project) for cost, timeline, and resource control.
  • Clear and effective communicator, with strong reporting and documentation skills in English.
