At ING we are looking for an Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Specialist.

Your role and work environment

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Specialist to join our Resilience & Continuity Expert Unit Operational Design Control Resilience & Facilities (ODCRF).

The ongoing regulatory demands in the financial services industry mean that ING must increase its efforts to ensure a compliant and future‑proof organisation which delivers safe and secure processes resilient enough to withstand the challenges ahead. Within ODCRF the area of Resilience & Continuity will focus on realizing the specific requirements around Operational Resilience.

The area Resilience & Continuity is pivotal for our success. You will work in an enthusiastic team to meet the objective of the Resilience & Continuity team: to contribute to a successful delivery of ING’s Operational Resilience strategy by bridging the gap between design and execution whilst keeping our bank safe and secure.

Activities the team members are working on include:

  • Defining and implementing operational resilience strategy focusing on Business Continuity Management, Crisis management, Regulatory Reporting and coordinating important incidents until its resolution and lessons‑learnt phase;
  • Clear instructions and information to the Critical Business Services owners of the operational resilience strategy and ING framework;
  • Operational Resilience and Business Continuity policy champions (and Control Standard owner);
  • Working closely together with the global team and collaborating with other ING countries;
  • Participating in a rotating on‑call system intervening when there is a critical or very important incident potentially leading to a crisis or immediate regulatory reporting.
Your key responsibilities

As an Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Specialist you will:

  1. Strategy & Governance: Implement the Operational Resilience Strategy aligned with ING Group standards and local regulatory requirements; maintain and update the Crisis Management Plan and Entity Business Continuity Plan (BCP), including Maximum Outage Times (MOTs); ensure alignment between resilience strategy and business objectives, customer expectations, and legal obligations.
  2. Risk Identification & Impact Tolerance: Identify Critical Business Services (CBS) and assess their impact tolerance thresholds; conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and integrate findings into resilience planning.
  3. Testing & Assurance: Lead end‑to‑end Operational Resilience testing.
  4. Service Providers Oversight: Evaluate and monitor BCM capabilities of external service providers, ensuring documentation and test results are collected and assessed.
  5. Crisis Management & Escalation: Activate and coordinate Country Crisis Management Team (CMO) procedures during disruptions; ensure timely escalation and communication with local and global stakeholders.
  6. Training & Awareness: Promote resilience awareness and training across departments to ensure readiness and role clarity during crises.

Actividades del equipo

Tus responsabilidades claves

Como Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Specialist deberás:

  1. Estrategia y Gobernanza: Implementar la estrategia de Operational Resilience alineada con los estándares del Grupo ING y los requisitos regulatorios locales; mantener y actualizar el Crisis Management Plan y el Entity Business Continuity Plan (BCP), incluyendo los Maximum Outage Times (MOTs); garantizar la alineación entre la estrategia de resiliencia y los objetivos del negocio, expectativas de clientes y obligaciones legales.
  2. Identificación de Riesgos y Tolerancia al Impacto: Identificar los Critical Business Services (CBS) y evaluar sus umbrales de tolerancia al impacto; realizar Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) e integrar los resultados en la planificación de resiliencia.
  3. Pruebas y Garantía: Liderar las pruebas end‑to‑end de Operational Resilience.
  4. Supervisión de Proveedores: Evaluar y monitorizar las capacidades de BCM de proveedores externos asegurando que se recopilen y evalúen la documentación y los resultados de las pruebas.
  5. Gestión de Crisis y Escalado: Activar y coordinar los procedimientos del Country Crisis Management Team (CMO) durante interrupciones; garantizar la escalada y comunicación oportuna con las partes interesadas locales y globales.
  6. Capacitación y Concienciación: Promover la concienciación y formación sobre resiliencia en todos los departamentos para asegurar preparación y claridad de roles durante las crisis.
