Overview

The Manager – Research is responsible for leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary team working across multiple concurrent projects. This role requires strong people‑management skills, experience managing consultancy‑style teams where resources are dispatched dynamically, and the ability to develop structured KPIs and effective reporting processes. The Manager will ensure efficient workflows, high‑quality outputs, and seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly report to the Research Operations Manager and provide regular updates on project status, team performance, and key risks.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a diverse team of researchers, software engineers, machine‑learning engineers, QA testers, and specialized contributors working on different projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate resource allocation in a consultancy‑style environment, assigning team members to support various internal teams and shifting priorities.
  • Oversee workload distribution, prioritize tasks, and maintain timelines to ensure high productivity and consistent quality.
  • Develop, track, and maintain KPIs for team performance, project delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare structured reports and dashboards for leadership, highlighting key insights, operational metrics, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages communication, knowledge sharing, and effective teamwork across diverse skill sets.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and support ongoing professional development.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, best practices, and research quality expectations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, research, engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management or team‑lead role, ideally in a consultancy‑style or multi‑project environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams and coordinating resources across various parallel projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and people‑management skills, including communication, conflict resolution, and team motivation.
  • Proven ability to create KPIs and produce clear, actionable performance reports.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem‑solving abilities.
Nice to Have
  • Technical background or familiarity with technical teams and workflows.
  • Experience using GitLab for collaboration and version management.
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project‑management platforms.
